(*) Kazuhiko SHIRAHAMA (1932-2019)
My father Kazuhiko Shirahama (1932-2019) was an amateur historian. He studied history of Hokkaido and especially Otaru district in late Edo and early Meiji Era, by deciphering historical documents (Komonjo in Japanese) written by brush with cursive style. He learned paleography by himself and wrote several papers and books, some of which were published in Bulletin of Otaru Museum, where he worked as a research fellow (2010-2012, when he was 78-80 yrs old). He also gave a number of public lectures in Otaru library and others, in which he taught history and paleography (how to decipher old Japanese documents), and gave a series of talks in a local FM radio program.
I have been collecting his works after him passing and open them.
小職の父、白濱和彦(昭和7ー令和1)はアマチュア歴史家として北海道、特に小樽および周辺の歴史(開拓史)研究を行っていました。研究は多数の毛筆古文書を解読して行うもので、父は研究方法を全て独学で学びました。その成果はいくつかの論文や書籍にまとめられています。数編の論文は父が78歳から特別研究員(2010-2012)を務めた小樽市博物館学術雑誌に掲載されています。
父は小樽市図書館の市民講座等で多数講演し、研究成果や古文書の解読法について多くの生徒さんに教える機会を頂きました。またFMおたるの番組でも数回の歴史解説を行っています。
ここに父の遺品を整理しつつ、論文等をアップロードします。
